About the Lab
The Garst Out-of-School Time Lab at Clemson University is a research group that conducts social science research exploring questions associated with out-of-school time (OST) youth development programs and settings. Specifically, the lab is currently studying:
impact of summer camp experiences on social-emotional, cognitive, and health outcomes in youth,
influence of parental anxiety and overparenting within the context of youth development programs,
relationship between program provider intention toward outcomes and received outcomes in youth,
program implementation factors that contribute to positive youth development outcomes.
